Dolphins Agree to Terms With Jake Long

After speculation ran high that the Dolphins would make defensive end Chris Long the top pick in the draft, the team has reportedly agreed to terms with Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long, making him the top pick in this year's NFL Draft.

Alain Poupart of DolphinDigest.com, our Miami site at Scout.com is en route to Dolphins headquarters for a 1:45 p.m. ET press conference. While the team has not released details for the media gathering, Poupart has learned that Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long is expected to be in Miami and most likely present for an announcement that he will be the number one pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.

FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer is reporting that Long and the team have agreed to terms on a five-year contract. The 315-pound tackle was twice named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year and will be the first offensive lineman drafted as the top overall pick since Orlando Pace was selected by the Rams in 1997.
