Flash Analysis |
For the fourth time in the last seven years, the Chargers spent a first-round pick on a cornerback. This year's addition is Antoine Cason, one of the most proven prospects in the draft. He posted at least 50 tackles and three interceptions in each of the last four seasons. He is also active in the community, using his "Cason Cares" program to help fight cancer. He will step in and replace Drayton Florence, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this offseason. Cason will play between Antonio Cromartie and Quentin Jammer in what will now be one of the top cornerback groups in the NFL. - Michael Lombardo, Bolt Report

Adam Caplan's Take |
San Diego was looking for depth at cornerback and the intelligent Cason will compete against Paul Oliver for the nickel job right away. San Diego will look for backup help at running back as early as round two.
